GhostLab: Oracle Privacy Policy

GhostLab: Oracle deals plates from five original field sets, entirely on your phone, for entertainment. It has no user accounts and no servers of our own. Your hypotheses, sittings, and notes stay on your device.

Summary

Your sittings never leave your phone. Hypotheses, dealt plates, and notes are stored only in the app’s own storage.
No accounts and no sign-in.
Dictation is optional. The microphone is used only while you hold the mic button, and audio is never recorded to a file.
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads. A one-time Pro purchase removes them.

Data the app uses on your device

Microphone and speech recognition — optional, and used only to type your hypothesis for you while you press and hold the microphone button. The app prefers Apple’s on-device speech recognition. If on-device recognition is unavailable, iOS may send the audio to Apple for transcription, and the app tells you so on screen the first time that happens; Apple’s handling is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy. Audio is never written to a file, never stored by the app, and never sent to us or to any advertiser. Only the resulting text appears in the hypothesis field, where you can edit or clear it. You can decline the microphone or speech permission in iOS Settings and simply type instead; every feature remains available.
Sittings and notes — the hypothesis, the plates the shuffle picked, the reading, and anything you type in the note field are stored with the sitting on your device and shared only if you share them yourself. Deleting the app deletes them.

Advertising

The free version of GhostLab: Oracle shows a banner on the home screen and an occasional full-screen ad after a sitting. Ads are served by Google AdMob. We configure every ad request as non-personalized, and the app does not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework or the advertising identifier to track you.

To serve and measure ads, Google receives standard request data from your device: IP address (which can imply an approximate, city-level location), device model and operating system details, and ad interaction data such as which ads were shown and tapped. Your hypotheses, spoken audio, sittings, and notes are never part of any ad request. Apple’s SKAdNetwork may report ad conversions to ad networks in aggregate, without identifying you. Google describes its handling of this data in the Google Privacy Policy.

Purchasing GhostLab Oracle Pro removes all advertising from the app.

Purchases

GhostLab Oracle Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We receive no payment details. The GhostLab Sphere Pass, also a one-time purchase, unlocks Pro across the GhostLab apps; the entitlement is recorded in your device keychain and in Apple’s iCloud key-value store on your own Apple ID so your other devices recognize it. We never see it. You can restore either purchase on a new device from inside the app.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data.
We do not run analytics SDKs or trackers.
We do not record audio to a file or upload it anywhere.
We do not upload your hypotheses, sittings, or notes anywhere.

Children

The app carries the age rating shown on its App Store page and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
